ENGINE OVERVIEW
Implemented by the International Executive Service Corps (IESC), the program’s focus is at the district level, using a broad-based approach that works with local government authorities, private sector associations, business development services providers, financial institutions, and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Activities are divided into three components:
- Implement policies for growth.
Build the capacity of the private sector to effectively dialogue with the government to set the policy agenda and improve the capacity of the public sector to implement policies.
- Equip businesses for growth.
Strengthen SME capacity and create greater demand for business development services (BDS) while increasing the sustainability of firms that deliver BDS.
- Access to finance for growth.
Broaden access to finance for SMEs, specifically women and youth entrepreneurs, to facilitate increased investment and growth.
